Dr Khalid Koser is the founder and Executive Director of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), the global fund for preventing violent extremism. Over the last ten years, GCERF grants have provided better alternatives for almost four million young people at direct risk of radicalization and recruitment across the world. An academic by training, Khalid is Extraordinary Professor in Conflict, Peace, and Security at the University of Maastricht, and was recently ranked in the top two percent of scientists across all disciplines worldwide by Stanford University. He is a Fellow of the Brookings Institution, Chatham House, and the Lowy Institute. Khalid chaired the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Migration, was editor of the Journal of Refugee Studies, and was Chair of the Board of Trustees of Raleigh International.
